“Dr. Mindy Howard is an astronaut trainer, selected astronaut, and pioneering leader advancing gender equity and inclusion in space and STEAM. As Founder and CEO of the Cosmic Girls Foundation, she is opening doors to space that were once closed—empowering girls across all six continents through world-class astronaut training, mentorship, and STEAM education.

Named a Highly Qualified Astronaut Candidate by NASA, Dr. Howard is also the founder and lead architect of Inner Space Training, the world’s first mental readiness framework designed specifically for astronauts. Her work focuses on cultivating the psychological resilience, decision-making clarity, and inner leadership required for extreme environments—both in space and on Earth.

Her own journey toward space has taken a non-linear path. Over more than two decades, she held senior leadership and engineering roles at Royal Dutch Shell, working across 35 countries and founding multiple global employee networks to advance gender equity, inclusion, and cross-cultural collaboration. These experiences shaped her conviction that access to space—and the mindset required to thrive there—should not be limited by gender, geography, or background.

A TEDx speaker, space correspondent, and author of Blast Off! Train Like an Astronaut for Success on Earth, Dr. Howard is known for translating astronaut mindset techniques into practical tools for everyday life. Through Cosmic Girls, she is fulfilling her core mission: preparing the next generation of girls not only to enter the space economy, but to lead it.

Her motto: Dream. Dare. Do.

What does it take to pursue a long-range goal when the timeline collapses?

In this talk, Dr. Mindy Howard shares lessons from a decades-long pursuit of becoming an astronaut — not as a story about space, but as a masterclass in resilience, strategic reinvention, and inner decision-making under uncertainty.

Drawing from leadership roles across 35 countries, astronaut training environments, and insights developed while writing Blast Off! Train Like an Astronaut for Success on Earth, Dr. Howard explores how high-performing women can stay aligned with their deepest ambitions while navigating setbacks, power dynamics, and non-linear success.

This is not a motivational talk. It is a strategic conversation about endurance, discernment, and winning without losing yourself.
